Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
This policy explains what Dear Scrapbook (https://www.dearscrapbook.com) collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account data, username, email address and a hashed password (we never store plain-text passwords).
- Content, the scrapbooks, photos, videos and notes you create. They are private to your account.
- Security data, one-time verification codes, and the IP address and approximate country at signup (used for fraud prevention and aggregate location statistics).
- Payment data, when you buy a plan through PayPal we receive your payer email, the product and amount. Card and bank details never touch our servers.
- Usage basics, standard server logs (IP, browser, pages) kept briefly for security and debugging.
- Aggregate visitor analytics, we use a first-party cookie to count visits (including from people who haven't signed up), and log which pages and editor tools are used and an approximate country from IP address. This is first-party only, never shared or sold, and used solely to understand and improve the product, not to build an advertising profile.
How we use it
- To operate your account, store your scrapbooks and enforce plan limits.
- To send verification and two-factor login codes, and important service emails.
- To communicate with you at your registered email address, this includes essential account, security and billing messages, and occasional updates about the service, new features or your plan. You can opt out of non-essential updates at any time by emailing support@dearscrapbook.com; essential account and security emails are part of running your account.
- To link your PayPal purchase to your account and activate benefits.
- To show advertising on ad-supported plans (see Cookies below).
- To understand traffic and product usage in aggregate (visits, popular pages, tool usage, and how the free trial converts to signups) — never to identify or advertise to an individual visitor.
We do not sell your personal data.
Business operations, improvement & legitimate interests
In the ordinary course of operating and advancing the service, and in reliance on our legitimate business interests, we may also process account, usage and related information for a range of complementary purposes. These include, without limitation: analysing engagement, performance and aggregate trends to inform product research, development and service improvement; deriving insights that help us understand our audience and tailor, personalise and measure communications and marketing relating to Dear Scrapbook and associated offerings; and supporting internal governance, planning, quality, risk, security, fraud-prevention and compliance activities in accordance with our internal policies and applicable frameworks. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we endeavour to do so in a manner that is proportionate and consistent with your reasonable expectations, and you may contact us to learn more about, or to object to, any specific processing described here.

- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- If you decline non-essential cookies, we ask Google for non-personalised ads, which do not use your advertising profile but may still use limited context (such as your general location and the page content) and coarse frequency data.
